Iko Brdaroski is Deputy Managing Director of Pakomak DOO Skopje, a collective packaging-waste management scheme, where he has worked since 2012 — first as Business Development and Communications Manager and, since 2024, in his current role. With over 20 years of experience in sales, marketing, brand management and business strategy, he is known for building partnerships between the private sector, municipalities and international development institutions.
At Pakomak he is responsible for defining and delivering the company’s business strategy and for meeting national recycling targets, as well as for building capacity and cooperation with municipalities and public utility companies in delivering the waste collection strategy. He also leads the introduction of innovative SMART solutions and information systems into the company’s operations.
Brdaroski is project manager of “Smart Packaging Waste Management”, delivered in cooperation with the Embassy of Switzerland and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), whose first phase ran from 2021 to 2024 and whose second runs to 2029. He has also led a project on an innovative system for incentivising the separate collection of packaging waste, supported by the Fund for Innovation and Technology Development, and a project on a sustainable value chain for glass recycling in the Western Balkans, delivered with GIZ.
Before Pakomak, Brdaroski led indirect sales at ONE DOO Skopje, was regional sales and distribution manager at the Skopje office of the Rovinj Tobacco Factory, key account supervisor at Cosmofon, and sales manager at Teknoxgroup Macedonia, Caterpillar’s dealer for Macedonia.
He graduated in financial and accounting management from the Faculty of Economics at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, and holds a master’s degree in eBusiness management from the joint programme of IAE de Paris at the University of Paris I — Panthéon-Sorbonne, Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Eindhoven and Howest in Bruges. He has also completed professional training with The Chartered Institute of Marketing in England, and a programme in the foundations of data science and artificial intelligence at the Southampton Data Science Academy.
